Trail Description: Miles of breathtaking scenic trails within the Santa Rosa/San Jacinto Mountains. The mountain trails can be steep, are challenging, and tend to be rocky. Horses should be shod. Also pleasureable "flatland" de-composed granite footing trails along the perimiter of posh country clubs, such as PGA West, Andualsia, Coral Mountain, Trilogy, The Hideaway, The Madison Club, SilverRock,and Merv Griffin Equestrian Estates.

Campground : Surrounded by the stark scenic beauty of the Santa Rosa/San Jacinto Mountains, the Lake Cahuilla (pronounced "Kah-wee-ah") Equestrian Campground amenities include: Twenty campsites and two host campsites, each with water and electricity for group and individual day use, or overnight camping; restroom and showers building; a covered common area with concrete floor, water, electricity, camp-stoves, picnic tables, and group fire rind; numerous pipe corrals with water nearby, hitching rails, and water trough. The Equestrian Campground encompasses a twelve acre area which also features numerous "primitive" campsites for the more adventurous horsey folks. (Total of 20 sites)

Directions: The Lake Cahuilla Equestrian Campground is located in the Coachella Valley, California, about thirty miles southeast of Palm Springs, within the City of La Quinta. Take Interstate 10 to Indio. Exit Monroe Street turn off heading south for about six miles. Turn right (west toward the mountains) at Avenue 58. The Lake Cahuilla Recreation Park/Lake Cahuilla Equestrian Campground Entrance is at the end of Avenue 58.
