Trail Description The Vilas County Equestrian Trail System consists of approximately 20 miles of maintained trails. This system uses portions of Pioneer Creek, Torch Lake and Ski Hill Hunter/Hiking Trails. These looped trails are all color coded and connected on a 6.3-mile corridor. The loops consist of the following.Pioneer Creek (Yellow) 5.1 miles, Torch Lake (Blue) 4.1 miles, Ski Hill (Red) 3.6 miles and the Corridor (Green) 6.3 miles. This Equestrian System is for riders of all abilities. Parking is available at each loop and the Vilas County Equestrian Campground.

Campground This campground is designed with horse owners in mind, offering a convenient base for exploring the surrounding trails and enjoying the natural beauty of the area. 8 spacious sites are available with plenty of room for campers and trailers. All sites have picnic tables. There are fire rings, highline tie-ups and corrals available. An electric water pump is available, bathroom facilities on site and a manure bunker.

 More Difficult (Moderate hills over consistent surface; possibly some narrow trails and short steeper slopes) 
 Rigorous (Easy to More Difficult for rider but physically challenging for horse such as on a level surface through deep sand) 
 Challenging (Possible rocky, uneven surface, steep slopes, uncleared trails, faster flowing streams and other obstacles that lead to more difficult riding for rider and horse)
