Trail Description: Trails of varying length and difficulty in the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area.      
Best Time to Visit: spring/summer/fall
Times to avoid: when it's snowing or icy
Campground : True West Campground, Stables & Mercantile (Big South Fork Recreation area). The campground has 67 stalls and 34 campsites with water and 30-amp electric, 9 of the sites also have sewer, all easy access and level. WIFI, RV sewer dump, nice shower houses with heat and a/c, lodging and cabin rental, two stocked ponds for fishing, mercantile with tack , supplies, gifts, snacks, ice, maps, old west clothing. Large covered deck for gathering. Special events held monthly. Knowledgeable trail guide service. Large clean barns with bedded stalls, covered saddle racks. True West is centrally located to access the Big South Fork trails in several directions. For reservations call (931) 752-8272. (Total of 34 sites)

Directions: True West is located between Jamestown and Oneida on Hwy 297; 5 miles east of the intersection of TN Routes 154 and 297, and 2.5 miles west of the western entrance to the Big South Fork Park.

 Easy
(Gently sloping or level terrain; trails are groomed or wide open; shallow or no creek crossings. ) 
 More Difficult (Moderate hills over consistent surface; possibly some narrow trails and short steeper slopes) 
 Rigorous (Easy to More Difficult for rider but physically challenging for horse such as on a level surface through deep sand) 
 Challenging (Possible rocky, uneven surface, steep slopes, uncleared trails, faster flowing streams and other obstacles that lead to more difficult riding for rider and horse)
