Trail Description Mackinac Community Equestrian Center offers the private individual the ability to bring their personal horse to the island to ride the beautiful trails with views of Lake Huron and the ability to ride to the lake at various locations. The equestrian center provides full care for your horses including hay, bedding, stall cleaning and feeding and information on transporting your horse on the ferry to get to and from the island.

Times to Avoid Island is not accessible for horses during winter
Campground The barn consists of excellent box stalls with a saddle rack in front for personal tack storage and wash rack with limited turn out available. Housing is available on the island with a discount offered at two locations for individuals who bring their own horses for riding. Housing fills early; so booking well in advance is recommended.

(Gently sloping or level terrain; trails are groomed or wide open; shallow or no creek crossings. ) 
 More Difficult (Moderate hills over consistent surface; possibly some narrow trails and short steeper slopes) 
 Rigorous (Easy to More Difficult for rider but physically challenging for horse such as on a level surface through deep sand) 
 Challenging (Possible rocky, uneven surface, steep slopes, uncleared trails, faster flowing streams and other obstacles that lead to more difficult riding for rider and horse)
