This is the most quiet campground I have ever been too. In fact both times I camped here my group was the only equestrians camping there. Sort of an open field with camping around the edges, but there are sites that have shade. The trails I found to be awesome. A bit of everything-fields, marshes, hills, forest. the only problem was the bugs. they were awful! Deer flies all over, and ants in the campground. I would come back here, and do recommend the secnic overlook trail for beautiful views of the lake.

Campground is spacious and grassy with attractive scenery. Trails offer a mixture of flat and hilly terrain and several loops from the campground - long or short, hilly or flat - take your pick. Three scenic overlooks from the horse trails are marked on the map. (A detailed map is available from the modern campground office - better than the one found at the DNR web site). Many areas of trails are "rockless" providing ample opportunity for extended trots. Fantastic for day rides or camping!!

Great well marked trails, hills, fields, all the fun stuff. Great footing, very soft. I didn't stay in the campground over night, but they were very grassy and offered shadey spots too!

If you're not in good physical condition, you'd better bring your own water, or someone to help pump it from the 195' well! Just kidding, but it was somewhat of a workout. I was there for the first time two weeks ago with a bunch of women friends (chick weekend!) but I enjoyed it so much my boyfriend and I went back the weekend of the 4th for one night. It is an easy 1 1/2 hr drive from the Toledo Oh area.
