Trail Description OFFER TRAIL MAPS , OFFER ARENA TO WARM UP COOL DOWN. ROCKY, SOME STEEP, A FEW EASIER AND FLATTER, THE X-TREME EVENTING IS HERE SO IT GOES TO SAY... THESE ARE A RIGOROUS, SOMETIMES ROCKY ROUGH RIDE, SOME SHADY, SOME WATER. EXPERIENED RIDER AND ATHLETIC HORSE TO PREVENT INJURY The horseback riding trails range from easy wide forest paths to rugged mountain trails. Leatherwood Mountains is a residentialvacation resort and equine community, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, near the BooneBlowing Rock area and features approximately 100 miles of trails winding through more than 5,000 acres of beautiful pristine mountain forests. Leatherwood Mountains offers rental homes for short term vacation rentals, as well as large, private and scenic home sites and homes for purchase. Camping facilities, a full service equine center with 80 stalls and a restaurant enhance the numerous amenities.

Campground ACROSS THE HIGHWAY FROM BARN AND FACILITIES, SHADY, BESIDE A CREEK,CLOSE PROXIMITY, CAMPGROUND IS SMALL AND A RESTURANT ACROSS THE STREET, WILL LET YOU USE THE ARENA AREA FOR WARM UP AND COOL DOWN Leatherwood Mountains is pleased to offer 20AMP power & water hook up camp sites year round. Our beautiful wooded campground is located on the banks of Elk Creek. Pets are welcome but they must be on a leash. 21 sites are easily accessed by our pull through gravel road that runs through the sites. We can accommodate large rigs with up to 35 foot box trailers. The longest rigs will not be able to use the exit ramp but can easily exit through the other end of our campground. The barns and showers & bath rooms are with is a 50 yard walk. There is no bath house in the camp ground at this time. Reservations must be made through our barn office 336-973-5044. Sites are first come first served. • 21 Sites • 20 AMP GFI Breaker sites • Showers & Bathrooms available • Pool Pass Can be purchased • Campground is 100 yards from barns - across the street • $20 Per Night Per Site • Dumpster available • Beautiful Creekside Location • Dogs must be kept on leash • Dumpsters & Recycling available • $225 Per Month Relax in a luxury vacation home hidden in the trees at Leatherwood Mountains of the Blue Ridge Mountains and wilderness horse country. These Blue Ridge Mountain luxury vacation homes of Leatherwood Mountains are near Boone and Blowing Rock, North Carolina. · We have fishing poles w/ tackle boxes available for day rentals. First come, first serve. · Fishing rentals are $5 per pole for ½ day rental (4-hours)& $10.00 per pole for full day rental (8-hours). · Tennis racket rentals are $5 per racket and include a fresh can of 3 tennis balls for a 2-racket rental. · If the Volleyball net is not set-up, there is a $15.00 set-up fee; the ball is included. If the net is set-up already, the ball rental is $5.00 per day. Don't hesitate to call if you are trying to find your way to Boone, Blowing Rock, Jefferson or Ashe County North Carolina. We will direct you through the Mountains on your way to your North Carolina Leatherwood Mountain Vacation. CALL US! (800)4NC-MTNS From Boone - DRIVE TIME - GIVE YOURSELF AT LEAST 45 MINUTES FROM BOONE - take US 421 east (or south)2 miles from town take a right at the light on to old 421 east (south) go 2.5 miles & turn right on winding Elk Creek Road 12 miles, turn left on Elk Creek Road 1 mile. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR HORSE TRAILERS!!! From Blowing Rock - DRIVE TIME - GIVE YOURSELF AT LEAST 1 HOUR 15 MINUTES FROM BLOWING ROCK - Take US 321 South towards Lenoir. Go Approximately 13 miles & turn Left on Hwy 268 & go approximately 14 miles on 268 EAST. Turn Left on Elk Creek Road (watch for the Leatherwood sign) & go 6 miles. Leatherwood is on the right. NOTE: Hwy 321 is closed on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 12:00 - 2:00 for construction. From Lenoir - DRIVE TIME - GIVE YOURSELF AT LEAST 1 HOUR FROM LENOIR take NC 18 north 9 miles, turn left on Grandin Road 6 miles, turn right on NC 268 2 miles, turn left on Elk Creek/Darby Road 6 miles, Leatherwood is on the Right. From Charlotte - DRIVE TIME - GIVE YOURSELF AT LEAST 2 HOURS & 15 MINUTES FROM CHARLOTTE - take Interstate 77 north 72 miles, take exit 73B onto US 421 north 23 miles, take Exit 286B (Wilkes Community College exit) off US 421, turn left on NC 268 west 16 miles, turn right on Elk Creek/Darby Road 6 miles, Leatherwood is on the Right.
