Have been camping at True West since it's opening many years ago. Love the new owners!
They visit your campsites with smiles, helped me unload, park and clean out my trailer after our 6 hr. ride to get there. Rescued us from the trail in the rain and went out of their way to be sure we were happy. Clean showers! Trails are awesome! Water rides and great vistas, fantastic caves and rock formations. Just one great time! Can't wait to go back! |

Donna and Shawn do a great job at running the campground. They go out of their way to make sure you and horses are comfortable. The trails are beautiful. For a beginner rider there are enough easy and intermediate trails to ride without getting extreme. Would recommend this place to anyone! |

Great place! When we arrived Donna greeted us, checked us in and had us pull up to the barn were Shawn helped unload horses, stuff and even cleaned out our trailer! Best hosts, very clean barn and grounds. The horses were comfortable and the staff always kept an eye out on them. It was more like visiting friends than going to an unknown place. The trails were beautiful with everything from easy to more difficult. Shawn trailered us to a nearby trailhead one day and came to "rescue" us another day after we got a little off track (never lost LOL) and the ride turned out much longer than we had anticipated. The mercantile store had everything you could imagine. We will be back! |

TrueWest is our new favorite place to trail ride. The owners (Donna and Shawn) were absolutely wonderful. They go out of there way to insure you have everything you need and more. The trails are awesome and the sites to see are great. We put in close to 60 miles the week were there and had challenging trails and easy trails. For a small fee they will clean the stalls while you are out riding so when you get back all you got to do is rinse down your horse and put them up. This makes for a most relaxing after ride experience. The barn is well laid out in an easy access location with good size stalls. No doubt if you go to True West you will have a great experience to remember with your horses. The owners Donna and Shawn, are the best. Can't wait to go back!!! |

We brought 3 horses and stayed at True West for 6 days. Donna and Shawn were great hosts. Our trailer was cleaned out and we were helped to unload our "stuff" at the barn. Then we were taken to our campsite. The setup and location is perfect for getting to the trails quickly. If you get lost True West will help you get back too!! Thanks Donna and Shawn for a great stay.Clean and well maintained. Airy, safe barn.Nice common areas too. True West also has a fantastic gift shop that is hard to stay out of! |

This was my first trip to Tennessee to ride. The whole experience was fantastic, from the campground to the trails was well worth the trip. The hospitality from True West is exceptional, they make you fell like family from the time you get there till after you are gone. I have traveled and camped at a lot of places and they are definitely at the top of what I have seen. The trails are really nice also, nothing to worry about for new or beginner riders. The whole trip was fun and I look forward to going back. |

On my last visit it was a rainy day when my student and I arrived to work on the ACTHA training course set up for folks new to ACTHA. The staff were quick to help us park and unload. All staffers were friendly and helpful. The stables were spotless. We were instructed on stabling practices. The barns were fresh smelling and clean. One stabled horse had an issue and kicked out boards. The staff were quick to tend to the horse and make a fast repair. True West staffers went the extra mile to make myself and my student feel welcome. A little rain and mud was no hindrance working the obstacles. Donna walked the entire course with us, giving us advise and tips as we went along and explained the difference between CTC and AOC events. I personally have ridden the trails in and around True West prior to this visit. I do not find then either too difficult nor too easy, however, I am a seasoned trail rider so nothing much phases me on the trail. The campgrounds and staff are five star and so are the trails. Happy, friendly, helpful and welcoming! What more could a trail rider ask for? Thanks to all who helped make our time 'in training' worthwhile. My student and I will return and will join ACTHA so we may participate at True West sponsored events. |

Just got back from True West. We rode about 100 miles in 5 days, and still plenty we did not see, oh well have to leave fun for next time. The hosts Shawn and Donna were the best you could ask for. Shawn is my hero and will bail you out if your ride turns out to be more then you can handle in a day. He will also take you to trail heads that are a little farther then you care to ride. They make sure you have everything you need and that your horses are well cared for. My favorite Trail was Hippy Cave, Wildcat Den, and fiddlers Arch. I love the Horse Steps. We were all smiling ear to ear after that trail. Can't wait to do it again. |

True West Campground is awesome. When I pulled up and checked in they were at the barn waiting for me and my horses. They took my saddles, my tack, water buckets, feed bags and everything needed for me stay while there. I thought I had hit the lottery. They cleaned out the trailer while everything else was being placed in the appropriate place. Easy access for my horses and saddles and everything were right there with them. They even wrote my horses names on the stalls. I was treated with the most gracious hospitality I have ever had. Donna and Shawn the owners were so welcoming to their guests, not one guests but all guests. They visited the campsites in the evening and took time to sit and talk and be the best hosts I have ever seen. They have maps at your request and if you have difficulty they will talk you through it, and even come out as they did with me. The trails are different for each trail. Some levels are harder than others and it just depends on the trail. There are trails for longer rides or shorter rides and the owners are more than welcome to help you chose a trail for the length of time you want to ride. I will be returning to True West Campground as I have never been treated so welcomed as I was there. Their store has a variety of items to chose from, they even allowed us to borrow a tool to make extra notches in a girth free of charge. The barn was outstanding and a round pen for stretching or working your horse. The accommodations was the best I have ever encountered. I rate this campground a 5 Star as it is well worth trying one time to fully understand the care and hospitality the owners Donna and Shawn have shown me and my group. Must go to appreciate it. |

What a great overall experience. I rented the camper - when I arrived and checked in at "The Marshal's Office" Donna greeted me with a warm welcome and explained where my stalls were located and that Shawn would be there to meet me. Shawn helped me unload my trailer and cleaned it out and helped me with my tack, feed, and hay - got my horses all situated and comfy. Then we proceeded to the camper where Shawn showed me the way everything worked inside and how to set the heat/air and where to place any trash for pick up in the mornings. The grounds are so well kept and the pond has frogs that serenade you in the evenings. Red wing blackbirds show off their beautiful colors in flight as well as several other indigenous species. The trails were so much fun - the first time we forded rivers and it was awesome! The Laurel Fork trail was my favorite because of the many creek crossings and the foliage. Beautiful area. A thunderstorm delayed our return one day and Shawn and Donna cancelled their plans out of the area for the evening to make sure that we made it back safely. I'd recommend this campground and the hosts to anyone who wants to have a great outing. The fire ring in the evening and toasted marshmallows and food and friends - it's the place to be in Tennessee!! |

True West went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Sean (Shawn?) led us on a ride so we could see most of the sights the area is known for, with caves and overlooks. He got back after a 6 hour ride and immediately got on his mower to take care of the grass around the barn area while the rain was stopped! The grounds were pristine and you felt guilty if your horse dropped some fertilizer on their grass! He helped me with my trailer at the dump station (never had someone help me with that before!) and I was able to purchase hay so I didn't have to haul so much hay in my truck.
Loved the trails and the maps were easy to follow. |

The campground was very nice. The campsites are level and easy to get in and out of. The barns have large safe stalls, and free sawdust. There is a nice covered area for eating and socializing. The bathrooms are very clean and have HOT showers. The one day I was here it unfortunately rained and we only rode a few hours, so I really can't say what the trails are like. Definately want to go back and explore! |

Had such a wonderful time at True West with my husband and a some friends that I decided to grab a couple more friends and go back the next weekend!!! Wonderful atmosphere - was able to get one of the campsites back by the pond - beautiful view as we sat around and talked the night away! The owners are such great hosts - helped us get the horses settled in the barn and cleaned out our trailer for us when other campgrounds had said that they wouldn't!! They unloaded our hay and tack and helped put it in the barn and then helped us get parked in our campsite! They brought the firewood right to our campsite for us!! I could go on and on about how wonderful this campground is but I think that everyone just needs to go there and experience it for themselves! Our family of four stayed there for four days last summer. We loved the accomadations, we stayed in the two bedroom suite. We haven't riden horses in years so Donna got us all back in the saddle again. We enjoyed every day of our stay, we saw the world's biggest tree house, thanks to Donna. We also had a lazy day of just hanging out at the river, which we all loved. We hated to leave because every day Donna had something new for us to do. We had a fire every night and just hung out and enjoyed the country. We were nice and cool in our airconditioned rooms. We can't wait to go back some day. There's always something new to enjoy thanks to Donna and Shawn, it felt good to ride again and she took us to a magnificent mountain top at the end of the trails, we didn't own any horses yet we experienced the joy of riding and interacting with them at her stables. It was a whole different world down there in Tennessee and we loved every minute of it. |

Our stay at True West was AWESOME!!!! We just fell in love with Shawn and Donna...They are by far one of the BEST camp host we have ever had!!!!! We had the pleasure of staying here on Thanksgiving weekend....Donna prepared a yummy turkey dinner on Thanksgiving, and then feed us again the day after, then the third day tried to feed us again, lol....my husband was missing his pumpkin pie, so Donna made us all a pie, plus a pumpkin roll!!!! DELISH!!!!! We had the pleasure of riding with Shawn for 2 days, that was also wonderful, had the BEST time with him out on the trails, I only wish Donna could have came along!!!!!! Made some new friends while we were there...lots of campfire fun, Shawn and Donna joined us one night for the campfire MOONSHINE festival!!!!LOL!!! The Campground was SUPER clean, stalls were wonderful....Bathrooms VERY CLEAN and nice!!! My favorite part was there store...my only complaint was they had to many "had to haves" and I spent to much money...LOL!!!! In there store they seem to have everything you could possible imagine!!! We had gotten there and realized we forgot a few water buckets and Shawn had let us borrow 2 of his, no pressure to buy any in the store whatsoever!!!! The trails were beautiful, you can't beat the scenery, absoultly takes your breath away!!!! Theres trails here for every rider...Can't seem to say enough good things about TRUE WEST!!!! Come on everybody, try them out...You won't be disappoited!!!! |

We had a WONDERFUL time on our trip to Truewest Campground. Donna and Shawn were wonderful! Can't say enough great things about them and the campground. My husband and I loved the trails they recommended. We can't wait to go back with a group of people, and this time have enough day-light to go inside Hippie Cave and the overlook! Hope to see you all again real soon! |

Liked having WIFI too. Good location in order to get to many of the interesting sights in the Big South Fork. Highly recommend this campground. |

We always take one day to ride around and see the other camps in the areas so we decided to come to this one because it is advertised as "under new owners" much to our surprise the owners were the same as the ones almost two years ago, we were not impressed then and we sure aint impressed now, it is the same owners as it was two years ago so we dont know whyh they advertise they are new owners |

We spent four great days at True West and could not have been more pleased. We were greeted by the owners and they helped us unload our horses and gear and cleaned out our trailer even though it was 7 at night. They helped us get our trailers parked properly and delivered firewood to our campsite while we hooked up. The campgrounds are very clean and all the campers we met had a smile on their face. I can't say enough good things about the owners-honest, hardworking people chasing the American dream of owning there own business. Definitely a place I would like to go back to. |

Do NOT confuse Shaun and Donna with the previous owners!!!! This place is NOW a 5 Star Campground for humans AND horses. They are just the best! They are beyond helpful..they help unload, help you set up, they even have a big screen TV to watch your football games (or anything else you might want to watch). As good as the place is now, they have plans to make it even better. My girlfriend does not like to clean stalls and she enjoyed having them do it for her for a very nominal fee. I just can't think of any other way to put it....SHAUN AND DONNA, YOU ARE THE BEST AT RUNNING A CLEAN, QUALITY CAMPGROUND FOR MY HORSE AND ME!!! |

This was our first time to stay at True West and ride Big South Fork. The hospitality at True West was outstanding. Once we checked in, Shawn followed us to the barn to help unload the horses and tack and clean out the trailer. He also made sure we were all settled in our campsite with no problems. We couldn't ask for a better place to stay and ride. It was only a short trip down the trail to the Big South Fork trailheads. The trails at Big South Fork were great and can accomodate any rider's level; from easy to challenging. We plan to return soon. |

This was our second time to True West, but first with new owners. We were very impressed with the service and hospitality!! We have yet to see anyone else give you such great treatment.. If you were there under previous owner and not impressed, you MUST go back, HUGE difference.
NOW for the people in KY who don't read the rules! REALLY! I would never expect to get half to a full day of hook up for free because I chose to either not read the rules or ignore them. Nothing is free these days!! For the service you get at True West you should be thankful! We traveled 12 HOURS and had NO problem abidding by the rules. Check in is at 2pm, how difficult is that?? Anyway.. beyond that, Sean and Donna are a BLESSING and keep up the good work! I pray for a continued thriving business and many happy years!! See you all next year :-) GOD BLESS! |

We arrived at True West and Shawn and Donna greeted us and helped us unload and clean trailer and get set up in stalls and campsite They made sure we had everything we needed for horses and site and this service continued for our entire visit. They even fed and watered our horses for us when we went to Nashville one day and got back late. Campsites are level and all grass which is nice. Barn is clean and open with large center aisle. Bathrooms were nice and kept very clean. I wasn't sure about having to tack in barn but was surprised it was actually better. Plenty of room for tacking and leaving tack in barn to dry over night was nice. And it keeps the campsites in nice shape.Trails were great and easy to get to. Shawn trailered us out to the Hostel so we could ride the Hatfield Ridge loop which was great with an awesome overlook, and Donna rode it with us-Nice day! O&W, White Oak, Spruce Creek, White Cliff and more were great to. Store was nice as well. Shawn, Donna, and Brittany made us feel right at home more than being customers. Would recomend to anyone and will be back |

Great place! Owners are outstanding! Very helpful. Meet you when you arrive and CLEAN OUT YOUR TRAILER! Never had that happen before! Also have saddle racks right by your stall with a place for your bridle and halter. No dogs around to wet your hay & feed, so you can leave those right outside your stall(s). How convenient is that! Wheelbarrows, manure forks & shovels provided along with sawdust! They will also clean your stalls for a fee if desired.
Clean showers & bathroom. Plenty of hot water. Wash racks for the horses also. Covered deck for groups.
Rode with the FOXTROT group for 4 days and we had a great time! Up & down hills, deep sand and rocks, you name it-they have it. Some gravel roads to follow also. The O & W bridge was pretty interesting! Crossing the river, seeing the bridge piers and riding the old railroad bed made you feel like you were going back in time. Several overlooks and don't forget to drive the "gorge"! |

I have never stayed at a horsecamp that the owners went out of their way to make you feel welcome. They just didn't take your money and then not see them when you need something or info. They came around at night when things settle down for them and saw to any needs. It was nice to have grass instead of dirt at the campsite. If the shade trees were bigger it would be a perfect. Now the trails are great there also, well marked for those who go there for the first time. We had a large group and they took care of us and made our fall trail ride Super Great, Thanks True West. Owners are extremely accommodating and hospitable. Campground is incredibly clean and well organized. Barns are maintained and bug free. We spent three nights at True West over Labor Day weekend and had a grand time. Band was playing GREAT music Saturday night. Only disappointment was many trails were closed due to construction, however the owner was more than willing to shuttle a group of us to Charit Trailhead. The 20 minute trip gave us access to beautiful trails and a river crossing. Was a great experience all the way around and would recommend the campground to anyone looking to visit Big South Fork. |

They help you unload, keep the place immaculate, provide nice areas to relax & offer help whenever needed. We had another great ACTHA event at True West, they know how to organize & create some fun obstacles & activities around the weekend. I would highly recommend staying here! |

I am from KY and attended my first TN ACTHA ride at True West Campgrounds. I have to say that in all my riding days (I'm a senior citizen), I have NEVER had such Red Carpet treatment at ANY event. As I took my horse into the barn to a nicely bedded stall, Shawn cleaned my trailer for me! Then, he carried in all my tack, hay, feed and buckets. Needless to say, I was thrilled after a long drive (for me anyway). It was that way all weekend. The ACTHA ride was awesome - great trails, good obstacles, safety first in all things, A+++++. Saturday night we were treated to awesome food and some great music by Allen Pope and his talented side-kick, Lisa. What a show from a two-man band. On Sunday, the same help was given as I loaded up to go - Shawn carried out the tack, etc. I would go back in a heartbeat, knowing I will be safe and comfortable as a single woman. Oh, and for a very small fee, they will pick and strip your stall for you. Other amenities includes a great western store to shop in, very nice campsites with a clean showerhouse, an rv dump station to empty out your tanks as you leave, and access to all kinds of trails in the South Fork Recreation area. And don't worry about crossing "the gorge" to get there. It's a mile down and a mile up and you are through. Yes, there are 6 hairpin curves (3 down, 3 up), but if this old woman can navigate it easily, anyone can! |

I have been to two ACTHA rides here and our experience has been WONDERFUL! In fact, we made our reservation for the second ride as we pulled out of the driveway. The new owners are friendly, accomodating and helpful to all attendees! While they may sound a little funny hailing from the Yankee states, their hospitality is all Southern. The campground and bath houses are clean and easily accessable. There was never a wait. The stalls are visible from the campground and if you get a stall on the campground side, you can easily keep an eye on your horse!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! |

What a GReeeeeeeeaaaat weekend! ACTHA event was very well thought out, and challenging.
I don't think a hoop has ben made yet that Donna and Shawn can't jump through. I have stayed at many campgrounds, but never one like this. These two truly put the rider and horse first/ This is pretty much a pull in, uinload, kick-back. and leave your worries at the door. Also, the entertainment was terrific. If y'all get a chance to see or hear Adam Pope, he is worth the price of admission. For a two piece band, it was the most fun I've had in awhile. Give them a try, Y'all won't regret it. |

ACTHA Ride on 08/25/2012. Very accomodating staff. Friendly and available to answer questions. Easy to find by GPS. It did not rain but the parking and camping would accomodate a 2 wheel drive truck and trailer even if it rained. Easy in & Out. Hay was good quality and not expensive. Electric and water sites are easy access, we did not need an extension cord and our hose reached. Airy, roomy stalls with water easily accessable with wash rack and lots of carts to use. Nice people in a great atmosphere. We will be back a lot. |

True West Campgrounds is a GREAT place to stay. We were there for an ACTHA ride but i'm going to go back to try different trails at Big South Fork. The owners at True West got us squared away within a matter of minutes. Even unloaded our tack for us - Super! The trail we used had too much sharp rock and my baefoot horse is pretty sore buts that's the parks job to make sure that the materials used on a horse trail are horse friendly.

It's all in the details! Sean & Donna at TRUE WEST did NOT disappoint. We have been looking for a "Family" horse adventure/get away at BSF since last year and we finally FOUND IT - TRUE WEST is truly a GREAT getaway for horse lovers of all ages. We ride with our 4 kids, ages 12, 10, 8, 6. From the moment we arrived till the moment we left, True West delivered and exceeded all expectations for comfort and convenience. We chose TRUE WEST because of the reviews we read online and we are glad we did. 2 of our 6 horses threw a shoe before we were able to step foot on the trail. I called TRUE WEST enroute and Sean ensured the Problem was solved in time for us to unpack, get settled, and still get an 8 mile ride in on the East Laurel Overlook trail. Kids loved the ride and Dad felt like hero, thanks to the last minute magic of a local farrier. We stayed up late, watched the beginnings of a meteor shower with my 10 year old at the campfire, and enjoyed roughing it (NOT!) in the Marshall Suite with couches, beds for all, and a hot shower. Sean helped us load and unload EVERYTHING and with 6 of us, that's alot! Donna was a great friend on the trails and joined us as she says she doesn't get to ride as much as she would like, at least that's what she told us, she was probably more worried about us and our wild bunch to see if we would ever return or still be wandering around BSF. I could keep writing, but will cut it short. If you are looking for a GREAT horse vacation - short or long, look no further because Sean and Donna of TRUE WEST understand how to serve up some serious customer satisfaction. Keep the potluck dinners going too! We'll see you soon!!!!! Pat, Denise, Jacob, Joshua, Danielle, Amanda, Chick, Elmer, Tyler, Caesar, Coco, and lil Mav... |

Our group had a wonderful stay at True West. We arrived late at the campgroud and the owners were still waiting up for us. They both helped with getting the horses stalled and everything unloaded. Also, one of our horse's shoes came off while riding and the owner made arragements for a farrier to come out and replace that shoe. The store was also convent when needing ice and other camping supplies. I would recommend this site to other trail riders. Big South Fork trails are very easy to access from this campground. |

We had a wonderful weekend at this campground. The campground is well maintained and the bath houses are very clean. There is a really nice store with all the little things you might forget to bring. There is alot of riding available from this campground. There are a couple of short rides and miles of longer trails. Barns are very clean with nice wide isle ways. The only thing that would help is a few more trash cans around the barn but that is minor. Well worth trying it out. The new owners are really nice and try their best to make your stay fun. |

This was my first visit to True West and the experience was great!! The new owners are awesome, the guest's having a nice time is top on their priorities from cleaning out your trailer without you even asking to just generally being so very pleasant and helpful. Definitely would love to go again. Note: You must go on a lot of gravel roads to get to the trailhead, and if your horse is barefoot, you might need boots. Trail was beautiful, I would consider it a 'moderate', not 'easy' trail, as did everyone in my group. About a 3 hour ride for us, at the walk. Very enjoyable ! |

Hosts were very nice and attentitive however we were charged an $11.00 early arrival fee. We have camped all over the Big South at just about every campground and have never been charged an early arrival fee. We left at approx 8:30 on our last day, however we were not refunded any for early departure so I would think one would offset the other. The campground it's self is nice, the owners do a nice job to attend to their guests, however more shade would be nice around the camp sites. And better access to trails. |

I have stayed at True West a number of years back, and sadly never retruned, until this past weekend for the ACTHA event. Holy cow!! The best thing in the world that could have happened to True West happened. The Martin family. I have never seen such a commitment to ensure that my stay was as pleasant as possible. Whatever you need, just ask. Whatever suggestions to make things better, just tell it. Both Donna and Shawn have earned my respect as to what it takes to make a business succesful. Commitment to the rider, horse, and the community. Long conversations with the Martins show that thier interest does not stop at the front door it extends into helping make a better community in general. None-the less. I am so pleased thaat my wife and I returned for the ACTHA event, because I feel we have made a couple of new friends to the horse riding expierence.
YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!

They have the cleanest bathrooms as well. the trails are a good mix of easy and difficult and most anyonne can ride on them. BTW.. for all the bad comments listed. If you do as your asked and follow some simple instructions, your stay at true west will be unforgetable. |

She called and said we didnt clean ours stalls good enough, and charged my dads credit card for them. 11! we only had three, and the rest of our group paid up front. And since she didnt want to go through the trouble of dividing it out to the rest of them she just charged it all on us. wow how lazy. then she said she came up short on ice the weekend we stayed and blamed it on us. We are just good honest people. We paid for ours before we even got it. Its sad that they would shew off $1200 dollars of business over a couple terds. |

Very sociable people. Shop is nice, carry enough of the basics and some gifty items too. The trails are easily accessable across the street ( not a busy road ) and are great for all levels of riders. The barns are nice and roomy, you can ride your horse right in them. The owners are new and are willing to ask and listen to suggestions to make the place even better. We have been spending our Memorial day at True West since it opened and have always enjoyed it but with Shawn, Donna and Brittney oh and Blake as hostesses our stay was exceptional. The hospitality and horspitality they show their guests is individualized with true concern.(who else would clean your trailer out and carry your tack and feed into the barn) No matter what your need from stalls to campsites they are met with a smile and expediately. A stock trialer is available if you feel the need to be trailered to different trailheads which makes the trip even more appealing to us. We consider the True West owners as not only wonderful people but friends. Thank you The Bennefields (Tim and Debbie) |

The best and most hospitable campground I have ever stayed at. I did not show up until midnight Shawn and Donna both helped me unload all my tack, hay, buckets, grain and helped me get horses into the stalls, he even filled the water buckets for me. Shawn then cleaned out my trailer. They even helped me back into the site and helped me level the trailer and hook everything up. The next morning I was happy to see that I was in the cleanest campground I have ever been in, the bathrooms are really nice. I have camped all over Big South Fork and this is by far the best place to stay. The campground is the best centrally located spot to all the trails, cleanest facillity, the best open covered stalls and I could see my horse from my site. I will now only stay at True West when I visit BSF. Can not wait to go back. |

Wonderful campground, where can you go that the owners meet you and help you unload your trailer. They go out of their way to make you feel at home. I read some of the previous post and its sad when people know the rules and do not want to abide by them. If you dont want to pay to strip your stall then do it yourself. |

We don’t typically reply to comments because we understand that as much as we try, we cannot please everyone and everyone is entitled to their opinion. However, we did want to reply to the Sanders group mostly because we were called dishonest. We take pride in the cleanliness of our campground, bathrooms, barns and the quality of our service. As in every other campground, stall picking & stripping is the responsibility of the horse owner. We make sure every guest understands this and it's posted in the barns. We also take care to let everyone know we can provide this service for you for a minimal fee. This service is optional and if you opt not to take advantage of it, then we should expect not to have to do it after you leave. If we do then, as posted, you are charged for the service we’ve now provided. We are honest people, and we work hard to provide you a great place to camp. We do not make these calls lightly, or for just a shovel full of sawdust because we know that retaliation is sure to follow – and it has. Regardless, this does not diminish the level of our efforts. We are true to our word – always have been, always will be. We are sorry that you’re unhappy we called in regards to our service to your stalls. |

camp was very clean and sites were very large, plenty of room. had a great time with the exception of the phone call from the owners. we cleaned all of our stalls (13) and it wasn't good enough. They claimed we need to scrape all the way down to the dirt. my husband inspected stalls and there could not have been more than a shovel full from all. She more or less accused my husband of not being truthful and she had pictures and a camera in the barn. we requested the pictures but i seriously doubt we will recieve. they are going to charge us additional expense for cleaning -- it is sad because our group spent $1200.00 on sites and stalls (very large group.) Due to their dishonesty we will not return. sorry you lost our business over a shovel of dirt! |

I swore at one time I would never go back, but decided to give NEW management a try. Great facility, warm hospitality, very helpful staff=a great camping experience. The barns are set up better than any other place I have been in Ky, Tn, Mo, NC. Worth your time to check it out. |

This was our first time visiting True West. Under the previous owner and his reviews, we never camped there. We read the reviews of the new owners, Donna, Shawn, and Brittany. We are so glad we choose this campground. We have never felt more welcome, the hospitality was unreal, the campground was neat and clean, shower house was superb, great stalls. Donna, Shawn, and Brittany are the most accommodating people we have ever encountered. So if you are looking for a place to go with great hospitality, True West is the place for you. We will return. Highly recommend, would give 10 stars if it were and option. Thanks guys!! |

This was my 3rd camping trip to True West Campground, the 1st visit under the new ownership, and what a difference it makes!! I've stayed at other campgrounds in the area and none compare to the quality of facilities that True West has to offer. Although some of the other campgrounds in the area may offer the same facilities, True West differs in the quality of their campground. The barns for your horses are superb! Wide isles, big stalls with saddle racks, bridle racks, and hooks inside the stalls for water, at each stall. Level gravel floors in the barn. At least 2 wash stations. And if you're are like me, enjoying your vacation, the owner, Shawn, offers daily stall cleaning and stripping for a small fee so you can enjoy and relax instead of working. The grounds and facilities are impreccably clean and groomed. Campsites are wide, clean, and level. 2 ponds offer fishing, and general relaxation, there is even a small dock to fish off at one of the ponds. The merchantile is stocked with everything you could need. We really enjoyed just shopping around in the merchantile at gifts and tack. Although there is plenty of camping supplies should you have a need. The trails at True West are directly across the road. There is absolutely no problem crossing the road or accessing the trails. And like all the trails at BSF, they are the BEST!! The trails offer something for everyone, easy moderate, and challenging. And the owners were very knowledgeable about the trails and directions. The owners are absolutely the friendliest, nicest people I have encountered as a campground host. We truly felt as if we were camping with friends. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by Shawn the owner who helped us unload our horses and tack and even cleaned the trailer for us!! Who else offers that kind of greeting?! After a long drive, this was most appreciated! Shawn, Donna, and Brittany truly know how to make a horse camping trip most enjoyable! I can't wait to return to visit and ride with my new friends again!! Visit True West, it is hands down the best choice for horse camping in the BSF area. I will camp nowhere else! |

Top notch service, they all so offer as a trail guide for the area and continue to upgrade the campgrounds.

We have been aware of True West for a number of years, but this was our first stay. The new owners have done an excellant job of promoting True West, especially on Facebook! Because of their FB posts, we have been wanting to come get in on the fun! Well, we were not disappointed! Shawn, Donna, and Brittany were very friendly and helpful from cleaning out our trailer and helping unload our stuff to pleasent conversation through out our stay. The Marshal's Suite was very clean and comfortable, the horse barns were spacious and safe, the mercantile was appropriately supplied, and, of course, the trails in the BSF are the best! We will return and encourage others to visit as well! |

We had the BEST experience at True West Campgrounds. The facility is everything you could ask for and more. The owners ( Shawn & Donna ) went ABOVE & BEYOND to make our trip GREAT. They gave us awesome trial directions. The barn was laid out great and CLEAN. The bath-houses were EXCELLENT- hot, hot, hot water with lots of pressure-they were SUPER CLEAN unlike anywhere we’ve ever stayed at before. We came in Saturday after a long hard ride, which was breath-taking, only to have dinner waiting on us as we celebrated Cinco-de-mayo together- GOOD TIMES. The General Store was fully stocked and had everything you could have ever need, we were able to get some great looking t-shirts as great reminder of our adventure. I would recommend everyone to give True West a try, you’ll not be disappointed. It may be 200 miles away from where we live, but we WILL be back first chance we can. Thanks again Shawn/Donna/Brittany for a GREAT weekend.

I can't say enough about how great our weekend has been. We had a group of 10, everyone loved our stay. Super to have help unloading our trailer and it was great to have dinner waiting on us Saturday night. Shawn and Donna are the greatest! Sat around the campfire with us (very friendly). Let them help you around the trails, too! Directions were "right on". Wish we were still there. (Our twins, age 7, thought they were great too) |

We had a wonderful experience at True West Campground! When we arrived they cleaned out our trailer and unloaded our hay while we got the horses settled! The barn was beautiful, well kept with large isle ways and well lit stalls! The stalls were a very nice size and were clean and had new shavings in them, we were also lucky to be able to get shavings for free when we needed them, which I have never heard of at any other campground!! The bathrooms are the cleanest I have ever seen at any campground!! The campites are large and well kept! The trails are right across the street! Overall our stay at True West was wonderful and I would reccommend them to anyone :) |

Barn is large clean and roomy.owners pick stalls at a reasonable fee or you can do yourself daily.they met us when we pulled in @the 8:00 pm.the day before thanksgiving. They had our feed, hay, horses out & watered before we knew it. How wonderful after the drive over...camp sites are level &easily accessed . Trails are out both sides of the camp.you can ride the park trails or spruce creek. We rode 3 full days.aprox. 55 miles total.saw alot of beautiful scenery. Trails are easy to advanced, you pick and choose as you wish..spruce creek trail out the back of camp is a must if you can handle a short path of sandstone rock steps( just a short patch!!!) It is breath taking through there!!! A must!! We will defiantly return as soon as possible:) |

This is a great place to stay. It is so clean and well maintained. Shawn and Donna are great hosts and people to talk to. The trails are so close to True West and are easy to get to. I'm sure we'll be going again next year to try more of the trails. |

Had a wonderful time. Donna, Shawn & Brittany made us feel right at home from start to finish. The campground has some beautiful spots next to a pretty little pond. the barn and grounds are well-kept and clean. Donna is very organized and the ACTHA competitive trail ride she hosted was very well run with a lot of attention to the little details that made the event a big success. High Five for TruWest! |

True West Campground, Jamestown, TN is a wonderful place to stay & ride the trails of the Big South Fork National River & Recreation area. New owners Shawn & Donna Martin did a wonderful job of making us feel welcomed, including helping us settle in when we arrived and taking care of every need we had. The campground is beautiful, sites great and the barns safe and clean. We enjoyed the trails in Big South Fork with easy access from True West. Check their website for more information.... great place and great folks!

The campground and stable accommodations are very nice. Shawn and Donna are excellent people. We enjoyed our stay and will return to True West again.
4 out of 5 stars on the trails: We rode for 3 days total, 1st and 3rd days were spent on very nice wooded trails (5 out of 5 stars). The 2nd day we ended up on a lot of groomed gravel roads and didn't care for this as much (3 out of 5 stars). My advice, stay on the horse trails and try to avoid the multi-use trails. |

We came in Friday night and camped for the ACTHA ride on Saturday. It was wonderful!!! Brittany, Shawn and Donna were fantastic. They helped us with our every need. We requested firewood but ended up too tired to start a fire. I asked that they not charge me for it and they graciously agreed. The campsite was clean and nice. The bathhouse was too. We would love to go back again and stay longer. The trails are awesome and diverse. It was a wonderful experience that I hope to repeat. My traveling companion and I highly recommend this facility. The new owners aim to please; they will take your feedback and I expect the facility will get even better over time. Trails were beautiful. However, to get to the amazing places at Big South Fork you'll need to take an all day ride. I can't think of a better way to spend a day! |

We have camped at True West Campground for several years. We became friends with the previous owner and hated to see him leave. We have camped at True West 2 times this year. Shawn, Donna and Brittany are very friendly and helpful. The campground and barn are very clean. Shawn helps get your horses in the barn, also helps upload hay and tack. The sawdust that is proved is really great and saves money when we didn't have to pay for bedding. We had 2 great camping trips this year at True West and look forward to camping there again. |

We found this campground to be clean and well groomed but like other reviews felt like owners nit picked and over charged prices. they were not that hospitable and refused to refund firewood after it rained all week and we were unable to use. They also charged $15 for the wood and was not a complete wheelbarrow load. Other camps in the area only charge 5 or 10 and we had enough wood for several nites. They didn't mingle among the campers or ask how we were doing. They only threw 4 scoops in the stall to bed them. They have a raccoon problem and several saddle bags and items were found missing if they were left in the barns. |

Heaven forbid that you not clean your stall before you leave. We were not sure and looked for a sign that would let us know and did not see one. I was informed that they did have signs (I don't know where) and that we were told upon registration that we needed to clean out stalls(neither one of us were told). So, they charged a fee on my credit card without telling me. We are responsible people and try to take good care of the campgrounds where ever we are. Got our wrists slapped. |

Stalls adequate, RV site large and level, trails in the BSF were nice, after the rain, they wre lick and mucky in places. The private trails required riding thru areas with houses, didn't like this much. Camp owner lacked Southern hospitality, he seemed to get a little irritated with questions about the trails. Also there was loud yelling while we sitting in camp. It was a little un-nerving. Didn't ask any questions after that. |

Yes very curtious owners, they mentioned in past gave free weekend for review. Very clean bathrooms included. Dogs from owners roamed attended but not leashed. Going to trailhead ok about 1.3 miles, going through other property owners and crossing several gravel roads, not kept up like Big South Fork park trails. Owners limited on knowledge of area, of travel time or distance to their property or trails. Great trails on BSF if you are directed to them by someone. Middle was burn out and dead trees from a few years back. Rail road trail great along river very senic rocks,& water crossings. Drove the gorge with 4H- LQ just swing wide not much traffic, saved 1-1/2 hour from other way listed on web site to take in. Owners need the business give them a chance, it appears they basically get the overflow from the state campground as it books up months ahead. |

When we decided to go all the way to Jamestown, TN for our 25th anniversary with a couple of horses I honestly thought we were crazy. I was wrong. It was defiantly worth the drive!! We spent 5 days at True West Campground and not only did we get the red carpet treatment but so did our horses. The new owners are doing a great job! The entire camp ground was spotless! Bathrooms included! Shawn was there to greet us and even cleaned our trailer out for us. The hospitable is unbelievable! They made sure we got parked and set up with everything working properly. Took us out on a few rides to show us all the really cool sites that people may not even know are there and I have to say they were breath taking. The scavenger hunt was a blast! They even helped us with some computer searches when we needed it and with a smile I might add. The entire family is not only awesome business owners but super nice, honest and fun people! I think they would go out of their way for you no matter where they are at. We made so many new friends during our stay at True West Campground. It defiantly draws in all the fun trail riders. Shawn, Donna and Brittany will always be someone special to us both that we will never forget. We hope to someday make it all the way back there again to not only enjoy the trail riding experience but to see them all again! Thank you so much for making our anniversary stay so pleasant, fun, remember able and special. You really do need to go check it out. I guarantee you won’t regret it and will make it an anuual event. 14 hours to True West and 13 hours home and I would do it again in a hearbeat!!! True West Camp Grounds located in Big South Fork was most definately in the top 3 of my lifetime vacations!! Donna, Shawn their daughter Brittany made us feel at home from the very first second we arrived at True West. Considering we were out of gas when we arrived and the first thing out of our mouths was..OH do you have any gas we can borrow..how embarassing!!! Dumb Yankees!! LOL One thing to make sure of is before starting the descent to True West make sure you are gased up!!! Also if you have A T & T beware you will not have cell service at the camp!! Other than that the experience was outstanding!! All the people we met at the camp were just wonderful and it was bitter sweet having to leave that's for sure. Knowing we had to go home to reality and our family and friends was the sweet part, but it was bitter for sure having to leave this wonderful camp and people and trails and everything else. I love being in TN. and will most certainly go back if I can!!! |

We had a wonderful experience at True West Campground. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. When we arrived, they greeted us and helped us unload the horses, as well as carry our saddles and gear! Later, Shawn brought us some wood for the fire to our campsite. It is so nice to be able to go to a nice, clean, friendly place that feels like a home away from home. We camped next to a beautiful spring fed pond, where we could hear the frogs croaking at night... and there were millions of stars out at night! Our scavenger hunt was also fun as well as educating -- we found all kinds of wildlife and plants. There were a variety of trails -- easy, sandy trails as well as challenging ones. We crossed peaceful, shady creeks, and felt on top of the world at Laurel Overlook, where you could see way down into the river gorge! I highly recommend this horse riding experience to anyone! We have been to many horse camps, and the new owners have made this one a top notch experience! |

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at True West Campground, so much that we took a secret vote to never return to the real world! Shout out to Donna and Shawn, they do get the most gracious hosts award! They were up to greet us, even with our late night arrival. Stalls were prepped and ready. Shawn even offered to help us unload and park our trailer. The campground is very clean, manicured, and inviting. The stalls and horse facilities are top notch and the best I've encountered in the Big South Fork area. The barn is well lit with a nice wide center isle. Ample room at the wash bays and water is easily accessible from any stall. While there are pitch forks aplenty, it is important to bring your own feed and water bucket. No worries though, if you forget to pack something, you can pick it up in their cute little tack store which seemed to have a little of whatever you might need. We enjoyed the luxury of the Marshal's Suite with our own private bath, refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot. If you have kids or enjoy you some oatmeal or microwave mac n cheese, bring a glass bowl and your favorite coffee mug. (or borrow one from Donna, thanks Donna!) The beds are comfy and have blankets and linens, but you will need to pack your own towels. We did not detect the wi-fi hotspot, but will investigate that on our return trip. Although...on second thought, maybe not, we are there to get away from all things business and that we did! This place is something like peaceful simplicity. Enjoy a cup of Joe on the porch swing, then meander to the barn to do some mindless poop scooping and throw some hay, de-spot your horse (if he's white) no hurry...the beautiful tranquil trails of BSF await just across the street. We rode Spruce Creek Loop and Laurel Overlook. Both are nice well kept trails. Note to those who have not done a lot of trail riding in BSF, there is one point on the Spruce Creek Loop that looks a bit steep, slick and rocky to those new to trail riding in this area. We named it the "witch's hole" lol. This trail also has some nice streams to cross. Laurel Overlook does not have any streams but, the wide sandy trails are great if you are inclined to breeze your horse and the view at the end is simply breathtaking. You may arrive a stranger but, Donna and Shawn's Friendly Old Fashioned Hometown Customer Service at True West Campground will make you leave feeling like part of the family. |

Just back from a wonderful weekend at True West. From this campground, you can ride across the street and pickup a trail that takes you to the Cumberland trail head or to Spruce Creek loop. There is as much or as little riding as you want here. Some of it is wide sandy paths and some is hilly with rocks just like anywhere else in Big South Fork. The trails were in good condition. There is a covered outdoor porch with tables, a grill and a TV. The new owners were wonderful and very accomodating. The campground was in great order. The barns were neatly kept and in my opinion are some of the best in the area with very wide hallways. There is also a very nice tack store in case you forget something. We have two young kids and they had a great time as well. I am not sure what happened with the last reviewer but would you take a puppy to a hotel? We saw so evidence of what he described. In any case, we camp and horse ride in this area alot and we very much enjoyed our stay.

Staying at True West campground was like a home away from home. During our stay we met some of the friendliest people not to mention sweetest animals. The price is wonderful compared to a lot of other campgrounds in the area and was very roomy. The stalls were bedded down for us and the new owner (Shawn) helped us to settle in the horses and showed us to our room, the Marshall suite. If we did not have something we needed Shawn would get it for us. The stalls were roomy and comfortable, everything was impeccably clean. there were three trails close by so you did not have to ride the same one everyday. The new owners really care about customer satisfaction and want everyone to have a fun time. having been there a week we decided to stay extra and had a difficult time parting with the place. We will definitely be back and bring all our friends to this special place. Thanks for a great time and a relaxed atmosphere!! |

The new owners were amazing and very helpful. The marshall's suite was very clean and had everything you needed. We were very comfortable in it. The stable was very neat and clean. The owner helped us to settle in the horses gave them water for us and even took our hay and tack into the barn. He helped us decide where to ride during the day and gave us a list of events and things to do. During our stay we made a wonderful friend. There were games and you could make a campfire if you would like. It is the best place to go not only if you have horses but to just stay with atv's or just a relaxing getaway. I have never met friendlier people and not seen a cleaner campground. If you plan on serious riding this is the place. mixed with places to kick up your heels and enjoy a fast gait or gallop through the woods and steep rocky hills where you could challenge yourself. It is located very well with three trail choices to take. it is a place that you would never want to leave. |

I would like to add a point of clarification regarding Bill's comment. True West is on the highway and to get to some of the trails you must cross the highway and ride a couple of hundred yards on a gravel road before you reach a trail. Or, you can leave from the back of the campground and avoid the highway altogether...note from this direction you ride some beautiful trails and there are a couple of interesting hills that might be exciting to a flat lander. |

What a wonderful time we had at True West!! My riding buddies and I have been to alot of campgrounds--this was at the top of our favorites. The owners were great and lots of fun. You knew they were there for their guests. Shawn and Donna were so much fun to be with and they truely care about their campers and horses needs. Barns are very clean and were ready for us when we arrived. Bathouses were great and everything is neat and clean. The camp shop had alot of nice things to purchase in addition to the T-shirts. I loved the trails right from camp and the experience was a very positive one. I would recommend a stay with the nice folks at True West. |

The "Ice Cream Social" on True West's front porch on Friday evening was a wonderful way to start your Memorial Day weekend....what a great idea! What fun that you opened it to the public as well, so local friends and neighbors like myself could come by. People always know when the hospitality is heartfelt and genuine so you'll do well, just by being yourselves. I loved driving by all weekend and seeing you full up; you've worked hard and you deserve all the good reviews you're getting! |

What a trip! Great trail riding at Big South Fork and absolutely loved staying at True West Campground. The new owners - Shawn, Donna and Brittany - are wonderful hosts and going the extra mile to serve their guests. The camp is smaller and quiet - which I like - and the campgrounds is very well maintained and groomed. The barn and stalls are very nice and shavings were in the stall when we arrived and the bath houses were better than I've seen in many campgrounds. The Barbeque dinner and band were wonderful. Shawn said that his desire was to make sure everyone that came to True West had a good time = and we did. I look forward to many more trail rides through BSF and fun times at True West. I highly recommend anyone to stay there. |

Outstanding!!! Shawn, Donna and Brittany are fabulous new owners. This is by far one of the best horse campgrounds I have been to in the South. The place is immaculate and beautiful. The owners make you feel welcome and are always available to help with anything you or your horse may need. True West's location is excellent. BSF is huge, so it is near impossible for any one campground in the area to have full access to all the trails, but this place comes close! The trails are gorgeous!! I highly recommend True West if you are planning a visit to Big South Fork, TN., with or without horses. |

First time staying at True West. New owner Sean and his daughter, Brittany were friendly and more than helpful. Sean helped us settle our horse and gear in the barn and even offered to park our trailer for us as we weren't confident backing it into a camping spot. 3 friends and I stayed in the Marshall's Suite (since we don't have LQ in our trailer) and it was fantastic. Clean and with all the amenities of home. Stalls were dry and bedded for us with plenty of room for my draft cross. Trails were good considering all the rain we've had this spring. We were advised not to cross the river and could see why when we took a trail bordering it. We will be back in the fall to explore further. |

From the lakes of Minnesota to the hills of Tennessee, this was our first trip to the Big South Fork area. We read the reviews others had written and decided to try True West. We found clean covered stalls, and many trails to ride right from camp. The campsites and bathrooms were also very clean. Mark was very accomodating when we arrived and helped us with trail information, the trails ranged from very easy to challenging. We also met new friends to ride with, that had stayed at True West several times before and took out on the trails. Our highlight was when Mark came to our campsite when were to leave and played his banjo for us, what a talented man! We will be back! Thanks! |

We ended up getting rained out down South from all the rain so we decided to try to get in at True West. Mark was very accoomodating and arranged for us to camp there even though we had no reservations. Turned out to be a great time despite the rain we had encountered down South. The trails in the SouthFork are very sandy so you can ride there even after some rain. Great stalls, nice level campsites, and immediate access to trails both behind camp and across the street. Mark would come around everyday to make sure we didn't need anything. They also have a trailer you can rent very reasonable if you want to haul further into the Southfork. There is ample riding for a couple days right out of the campground. Will definitely go back. |

What an excellent trip! True West Campground is definitely the best place to stay at Big South Fork. The campground is well laid out with all sites
spacious and convenient to the barn. WiFi was available and satellite TV worked, this made my husband happy! The barn was clean spacious and well
ventilated, this made my horses happy! The trails were awesome!! Well marked, clean with varying terrain and scenery, sure to please any level rider.
The True West Store was great, stocked full of quality merchandise from tack to clothing and gifts that you may need or want for you and your horse
(I love my new shoes I bought!) All of this made me very happy! Most of all was camp host/owner Mark, with a great sense of humor he was always
around to help you from recommending and drawing out trail maps to assisting you with your horses, and making your dinner reservations for you
at the local german restaurant ( I highly recommend we went twice) He was so much fun to be around we originally were staying for 5 nights and wound up staying 6, we really didn't want to leave! I feel we truly have friends at Big South Fork. Thank You Mark and Sue for all you did for us! |

True West is TOP NOTCH! I have ridden and camped all over the Southeast, as well as VA, KY, and IL. I can honestly say True West is the cleanest campground I have ever stayed in, which means very few flies and bugs. The barn sits up on a hill and stalls are enclosed about 3/4 high. This is the perfect design for great ventilation, even during the day. When we arrived, they were spotless and filled with thick bedding. The campsites were clean as well, level, and easy to access. Each campfire had a nice rock fire pit and a picnic table. At night, I sat by the fire and looked up the hill at my horse in his big clean stall, munching hay :-). Big South Fork is too big to ride everything from one place, so we had Mark haul us and drop us off in order to ride some trails we haven't yet been to. He and Sue are very friendly, polite, and helpful, as they trail ride themselves and know the area and trails well. I definitely recommend True West, and look forward to going back there myself! |

We spent almost 2 weeks at True West this spring and as before found the camp to be clean and the owner Mark to be very helpful. We have ridden in many states and find the riding at South Fork to be the most varied and beautiful that can be found. Jamestown itself is very lovly and the people welcome Riders with open arms as most ride as well. True West has great showers and the stalls are large, some even have rubber mats. There is a very nice tack store there, that has high end clothes and even some art. we are anxious to return. Oh, Mark will take you to any trail head that you do not care to ride to with his big stock trailer. There are many trails that run right from the camp, tho. So you can never use the trailer and still have countless miles. |

The trails vary in level of difficulty, are close to several major trailheads, and offer plenty of streams for your horse. Mark and Sue, the owners of True West, made sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely go back! |

nice, clean campground with well maintained campsites. Mark, the owner, was very helpful (even helped me blow up my camping mattress) and friendly. Our campsite had trees around it, next to a pretty pond. The trail was across the street and went into Cumberland Trailhead, where we saw beautiful and breathtaking Laurel Fork Overlook, etc. |

We really enjoyed our stay at True West!!! Mark was a great host and really makes you feel at home...he really helped us by mapping out different trails and he even hauled us to different trailheads so that we could ride back to camp from there. Our campsite was wonderful and the the shower houses were the cleanest that I have ever seen!! I loved the barns, which had a very wide aisle and the stalls were very airy... so you didn't feel like your horse was closed up in the barn. Everyone was friendly and we had a wonderful time....can't wait to go back!! |

Mark was very helpful with everything. The trails were great and well kept. We had to ride about 15 min to get to the Cumberland TH but it we worth it. This was our 2nd time here and we brought some friends with us. I'll come back!! |

It just doesn't get any better than this! Mark and Sue are the best possible hosts, and the trails are magnificent. I look forward to camping with them each spring and fall and would be there more often if I didn't live so far away --- and didn't have to work for a living. |

Even though it rained off and on we had a great time. Mark was a great host and helped pick great trails for us based on the conditions. A really nice, clean, and quiet campground. The bath houses and restrooms were very nice and clean. The barns have nice large stalls and wide aisles. Great tack store also. We will many return trips!! |

I have been to True West 5 times this year, and plan on going back 11/04/09, for 2 weeks.
I have been to alot of campgrounds in Va., W.Va., Ky., Oh., Tn., Al., Ga., and Fl., and
True West is the CLEANEST, with the best trails in Big South Fork.
What ever kind of trail you want to ride is there.

We love to come to Big South Fork and ride. We have stayed at many different places at the park and by far True West is our favorite. Mark and Sue are very friendly and know the trails good. True West Campground is located close to many different trails and they have a great campground. Now when we plan a trip to Big South Fork the only place we ever think about staying is True West. |

We have stayed at True West many times and find the location, facilities and company the best (for you and your horses). Mark and Sue go out of their way to make sure the facility is clean and safe. The catered meals and music are always good. Trail locations from True West couldn't be better and if you should exhaust all those miles, Mark will trailer you to other locations. You need to give them a try. You won't be disappointed. |

Had a great 4 days at True West. Ron was a most gracious host since Mark and Sue were out of town. I loved the airy barn and I could always see my horses from my campsite. True West is well centered for some of the greatest trails, Cumberland Valley Trailhead, O & W, Spruce Creek Acres trail, Wildcat Den and Proctor Ridge, and Ron also showed us trails new to us, the Salt Pines and Yellow Face. Met some really great people. Mark really keeps his place clean and groomed. True West gets my 5 star vote! |
