We started off the jeep road that goes to Hendrick Spring. You drop off the road and down into the wash. As you cross Salt Wash you will pick up the trail heading South into McCarty Canyon, Follow the trail about 1/2 way up McCarty and take a left up Still Canyon ( this is a slick rock narrow canyon) About half way up this canyon you will scramble up the right canyon wall and come out on shelf that will lead you up to the Mesa top. On the Mesa top you will cross a narrow neck of land with steep drop offs on both sides. This will bring you up onto Cactus Flats. Follow the cow trails downhill into Mesquite Wash and follow this wash back down to Salt Wash. Once back in Salt Wash you can find the trail you came down off the ridge from you trailers. It is about 22 miles of very rough country with incredible views of McCarty Canyon, Saddlehorse Canyon and Mesquite Wash. The jeep road into where we parked is not a good road. Don't take large trailers in this way.

Trail is a great loop ride starting at Fuller Bottom and riding down the San Rafael River to the mouth of North Salt Wash. You then ride up North Salt Wash to the only trail going west climbing out of the wash. The trail then goes north on a two track trail back to the trail head. Suggest contacting the BLM office (435-636-3600)in Price for current information.
