Still working his butt off to make sure that his guests are well taken care of ... square pens on the back side of most campsites. Electric :) He even brought some buddies over for an evening of bluegrass music and entertainment.

This is the BEST place in Michigan to camp and ride your horse. The trails were great. Well maintained. No bugs..., which made for a great weekend. Don owns the camp he is very nice and willing to help with what ever you may need. Live music you can try your hand on the microphone if you would like too. Huge campfire for everyone to sit around or you can have your own of course. There is also another camp maintained by the state. You can use the showers located at Sugar Loaf campground. It is located next to the states equestrians’ camp. Fellow trail riders were also nice. I saw lic plates from Ohio, Canada, Indiana, Illinois, all over. Once you ride the trails, you will see why this place was packed. I would highly recommend this camp and the trails. Have fun…Don has wood and hay for sale on his grounds as well. Good hay too!!

waterloo is the best riding in Michigan. don has entertainment on sat. nights and he used to feed everyone for just a donation. he really takes care of the place, there is fishing on the premises, clean out-houses, dumps, water, electric, and lots of pens for the horses. you can also picket if the sites are taken up with pens. fun ride to the trail head.

GREAT CAMP, DON HAS PUT IN AN ARENA AND TAKES CARE OF YOU AS A CAMPER. THE ONLY THING WE DID NOT LIKE WAS ON HOLIDAY WEEKENDS YOU MUST PAY FOR THREE NIGHTS OF CAMPING IF YOUR ONLY STAYING FOR TWO. THE TRAILS ARE GREAT AT WATERLOO IT IS THE LARGEST STATE FOREST IN MICHIGAN WITH GREAT HORSE TRAILS. VERY HILLY IN SPOTS WATER CROSING SOME FLAT AREA VERY NICE FORESTED TRAILS.

Not a lot of shade in the campground yet, as he has just opened in may he still has some work to do. There are sites with power and there is water between every 2 sites. There is a swimming/fishing pond also. The owner was very accomodating and available. They had live music from local guitar players that was alot of fun, he says he's trying to do that every saturday night. We will be going back.
