Some trails are rocky, and a tender-footed horse would appreciate shoes. Trails are well-marked, and some are wide. There are ample opportunities for water crossings. The day use area does not have a lot of shade and does not have water. Some of the equestrian campgrounds do not have close access to water.

No water in the day use or camping areas, need to bring your own or take a short walk to the river to water horses. Nice river crossings, beautiful scenery. Campgrounds got new hitching rails summer/fall 2008. Lots of wildlife. small amount of damage to one trail due to summer flooding.

Great Place to ride. Well up keep on trails. Lots of water crossings, and some large hills. There is a fair amount of rock, so plan acordingly with your hoof care. Split level camp ground with a creek running threw the lower camp. Very peaceful and very beautiful to ride in the fall. 95% of all trails are in the woods. Very little open areas.
