This is a nice set up, but I went in early spring and it was already infested with mosquitoes. There is a lot of standing water so they have tons of them. Bring fly sheets and citronella. The ride to the ocean goes through some narrow passes but it's pretty easy. Once at the ocean, it's clear sailing. Also, be prepared to hear ATVs going til late every night because the campground is adjacent to the dunes where they ride.

Great ride when not crowded. Tends to almost always have water on the beach trail, so if you have a water shy horse bring your waterproof boots. During winter it is very flooded. Wrap the horse's legs so as not to bow their tendons in the deep sand.

three manure bins, several water faucets, several trash bins -- that's very convenient vault toilets at entrance - parking for big rigs/LQ trailers takes some skill as the turns are tight and sites not so large - fire pits in several - wild blacberries growing - very nice and private - when we arrived at 4 PM a day rider was parked blocking our paid/reserved camp site - reservations are from 2 PM to next day...Camp HOST needs to MARK with a clear large sign "RESERVED DAY/MONTH" to prevent this happening...took two hours to wait for day riders to return and vacate our site -- HOST should be monitoring this for those who reserve -- we contacted the host, but the HOST was not effective or timely in ating on getting our site cleared for our use -- once in site, was a great camping and riding experiencelind

Good horse camp for families. Trail out to beach is a little more challenging for the younger kids. Right off the go you go up a steep little hill with a nice drop on one side and wall on the the other. Decent trails out to the beach. The only negative is every time we go you have to be careful going over the sea wall cause the trails down change. Sometimes its pretty gradual and other times it is a straight drop off so don't just run over the wall : )
